Kommand set to shake things up for earthworks projects

In July 2019, Kommand was launched to demystify machine control technology and unleash big benefitsfor construction, infrastructure and mining projects.

An experienced hire, sales and services team, the company helps clients across Queensland and northern NSW achieve new levels of speed, efficiency and precision on project sites through machine positioning technology and complementary solutions.

For Kommand’s founder, Gerry Kirkpatrick, it was a matter of taking things into his own hands.

“Kommand was essentially born out of frustration and an unmet need,” he says. “In previous businesses, I was a ‘user’ of machine control technology and it was just made too complex. Also, I felt the service from providers could be much better: more convenience, commitment and follow-up to make life easier for clients.”

And so, Gerry decided to meet that need, launching Kommand from his garage in July this year.

Come October, he has added two experienced and respected team members, and is gearing up to move into a new 250m2 warehouse to meet demand. The company is also focused on hand-picked quality, forging strong relationships with trusted brands.

With years of industry insight, a clear and straightforward approach, and a commitment to laser-sharp service, Kommand is helping clients make the most from machine control technology – on site and on projects.

“We’re all about making it simple and affordable to reap the rewards – including millimetre accuracy with fewer passes, minimised re-work and dramatically increased up time. And that brings bigger benefits from lower operational costs and safety and efficiency gains.”
